Dear [[First_Name]],
Suing your bank! Wouldn’t that feel wonderful? But maybe not so realistic, right?
Not so fast. Just last night, New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman filed a civil suit against JPMorgan Chase/Bear Stearns for several of the practices that greedy bankers used to destroy our economy and wipe out the value of our homes. As the first case to come out of the Residential Mortgage Back Securities Task Force he co-chairs, that’s a good first step. But you and I both know that responsibility for the worst economic devastation in 70 years goes way beyond just the bankers at Chase.
Let’s tell the Task Force who else to pick! Who owns your mortgage? B of A? Wells Fargo? U.S. Bank? PNC? Fannie or Freddie? Click here, choose your mortgage owner (or servicer) and tell Task Force Co-Chair Schneiderman who he needs to go after next!
The plain fact is that there are still lots of bankers out there who need to be held accountable for their actions that have led to over $3 trillion in bailouts [1], 16 million underwater homeowners [2], and eight million families in some stage of the foreclosure process [3].
That’s why, while we applaud this move against one of the biggest banks in the country, we need to keep pushing the Task Force to go after the rest of the banks who need to be held accountable.
Click here and choose your bank so we can tell the Task Force which banks need to be sued next!
Here at the Home Defenders League, we’ve heard some heartbreaking stories of people who’ve lost their homes or who are still fighting to keep them. In some ways there’s really no way to adequately compensate for all that the bankers have put too many of us through. But that doesn’t mean we can’t try!
Click here and make sure you choose YOUR bank to be sued next!
We’ll compile all the responses into one big list and hand-deliver it directly to the senior leadership of the Task Force so we can be sure they understand exactly what’s at stake and exactly who needs to be sued next!
The mortgage fraud settlement was tiny when compared with the amount of the economic chaos that the bankers caused. This suit against JPMorgan Chase/Bear Stearns is exciting, but it only touches one of the many institutions at fault. We need to make sure that as many bankers as possible are held accountable for what they did. Click here and make sure your bank is included!
In the fight,
–Nathan, Jeff, Kevin, Maram, and the entire Home Defenders League team.
